The road ahead
Until 31 May 2027, Ikigai continues welcoming guests in San Blas. In June, with Brano back aboard, we plan to sail first to Bocas del Toro, then transit the Panama Canal and explore Panama's Pacific islands. We hope to haul out at Vista Mar for maintenance and ocean preparation through the summer, subject to the yard's confirmation. If the boat is ready and the weather permits, the next chapter begins in late October or November 2027, heading north along Central America toward Baja California. We hope to spend Christmas, New Year and January in the Sea of Cortez. In February 2028 we plan to sail south to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle / Puerto Vallarta, with a crossing to the Marquesas planned for early March 2028. All dates and stopovers remain provisional. The voyage will then continue into the wider Pacific.
