How Much Does a Week in San Blas on a Catamaran Cost?

A week in San Blas aboard Ikigai, our Catana 47, costs 2,275 USD per person in a shared cabin (325 USD per night), with meals, activities and gear included. Taking the whole boat privately starts at 1,300 USD per day for two guests, up to 1,800 USD per day with six aboard. These are member contributions to a non-profit sailing association, not commercial charter fees.

Almost nobody publishes real numbers for this question. Here are ours.

We price per cabin, not per bed

Ikigai has three guest cabins, and the maths stays simple.

Shared boat: a cabin costs 650 USD per day and sleeps two, so a couple pays 4,550 USD for a 7-night week, or 3,250 USD for 5 nights. Travelling solo? A single berth in a shared cabin is 325 USD per night, and we only ever pair guests of the same gender.

Private boat: 1,300 USD per day for two guests, plus 200 USD per day for each extra person, up to 1,800 USD per day with all six berths taken. Ten private days for a full boat come to 18,000 USD.

Longer stays settle into the rhythm better. Five nights is a taste; seven lets the days open up.

What the contribution covers

Everything that makes up daily life aboard, not a menu of extras:

• Your cabin, bedding and towels on a Catana 47 sailing between the islands
• Three meals a day from our galley: simple, seasonal, mostly plant-forward cooking, plus the fish the sea decides to give us
• Drinking water, tea, coffee, and a cold beer or a glass of wine at anchor
• Daily yoga and guided breathwork on deck
• An introduction to freediving with our AIDA-certified instructors, plus all snorkelling and freediving gear
• Kayak and SUP, whenever the anchorage invites it
• Real sailing between islands: hands on the helm if you want them there
• Starlink wi-fi aboard
• Your annual membership of the association

Why a non-profit costs less than a charter

IKIGAI SAILING ASD is a sports association recognised by CONI and affiliated with MSP Italia. What you pay is a member contribution: it funds the boat, the crew and the voyage, and no one takes a margin on top. That is why a week here costs a fraction of a comparable crewed charter, and it also changes what you step into. You join a floating home in the middle of its journey around the world, not a service with a staff. San Blas is the chapter we are living now.

How payment works

We keep it old-fashioned: cash aboard, or a European bank transfer with no fee. PayPal works too, with a 3.5% surcharge. No credit cards at sea.

Is the price per person or per cabin?

Per cabin, with one exception: solo travellers can book a single berth in a shared cabin at 325 USD per night instead of paying for the full cabin.

When does the season run?

Our San Blas season starts in December and runs through spring, the months of dry weather and steady trade winds. Dates fill in order of request, so December and the holidays go first.

Do I need sailing experience?

No. You are welcome at the helm and welcome to do nothing at all. The crew sails the boat; how involved you get is up to you.

How do I book a cabin?
