Description

Ikigai Sailing Retreat
All Inclusive
February 9–19, 2026 · San Blas Islands, Panama
More than a retreat: it’s a return to your own rhythm.

Somewhere along the way, we start living by someone else’s rhythm.
We move faster. Do more. Perform. Provide. Please.
We hold it all together. Yet inside… something feels off.
Disconnection. Exhaustion. An invisible weight.
If this feels familiar, you’re not broken.
You’re just being called back to yourself.
To remember who you are when all the noise falls away.
To move slower. Breathe deeper. Live fuller.
To reconnect with the quiet truth that was always there.
This is your invitation.
To come home to your Ikigai.

What is Ikigai?

Ikigai (生き甲斐) is a Japanese word that means “reason for being.”
It’s not a job title. Not a productivity goal.
It’s the place where four rivers meet:
What you love. What you’re good at. What the world needs. And what you can offer.
It’s the deep yes in your body. The gentle fire in your soul.
It’s not something to chase, it’s something to remember.
And a more sustainable path towards fulfillment

Why this retreat?
Because sometimes the only way to remember who you are is to leave behind everything you’re not.
We’ll sail across the turquoise waters of the San Blas Islands, Panama where time stretches, Wi-Fi disappears, and nature reclaims its place.
Here, you’ll find space to reconnect to your breath, your body, and your truth & freedom.
We’ve created a deeply held 10-day journey where freedom meets structure, and play meets purpose.

Picture this…
You wake to the sound of soft waves brushing the hull of the boat.
Sunlight dances on the turquoise water outside your cabin.
You step barefoot onto the deck, stretch into the sky, and breathe in the stillness.
Salt on your skin. Silence all around. Nothing pulling your attention away from you.
The day begins with breathwork under the rising sun.
You move your body with intention.
You journal what’s stirring in your heart.
Then sail toward the next island, both within you and on the horizon.
Each day takes you deeper into the 10-day journey of Ikigai, from presence to passion, from reflection to celebration.
You are free to rest, roam, swim, express, and simply be.
This is not just a retreat.
It’s a sacred pause, between what was and what’s next.

What You’ll Experience:
Each day brings you deeper into your Ikigai through:

  • Daily breathwork & meditation to calm your mind and anchor your presence
  • Freediving & ocean rituals for surrender, clarity, and emotional release
  • Movement, yoga & embodiment practices to return to your body’s wisdom
  • Journaling & soul inquiry to reconnect with what truly matters
  • Island-to-island sailing as a metaphor for inner navigation
  • Group circles & integration time for authentic reflection and connection

We’ll journey through all themes of Ikigai one per day from Presence & Being to Passion, Vocation, and Celebration.

🐚 Why sailing?
Because the ocean is truth in motion.
It doesn’t rush. It doesn’t explain.
It moves with the wind. It teaches you to let go. To trust. To listen.
The sailing life slows you down enough to hear the messages your modern life has drowned out.
Every island becomes a chapter. Every wave, a whisper of your own intuition.

This is not just a retreat.
It’s a threshold between what was and what’s next.
It’s a ritual to end the performance and begin intentional living.
It’s a reset for your nervous system, your heart, and your voice.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to be “ready.”
You just need the courage to begin.
Because the truth is, you were never lost.
You were just distracted from your own aliveness.

Let this be your return to joy.
Let this be your breath again.
Let this be your beginning.

Logistic

Your journey to IKIGAI begins with your arrival at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City, with flights typically scheduled for the afternoon or evening. Because of this, an overnight stay in the capital will be necessary, offering you the perfect opportunity to explore the city and perhaps stroll through the charming alleys of Casco Viejo, its UNESCO World Heritage historic center. The choice of hotel is entirely up to you, ensuring maximum flexibility. Transfers from the airport to your hotel and back are included, as are the round-trip transfers to the San Blas Islands.

The following morning, a private taxi shuttle will pick you up directly from your hotel, driving you towards the Caribbean coast. After about two and a half hours traveling through the picturesque Guna Yala forest, a local boat will take you to IKIGAI, where you’ll arrive around 10:30 AM.

At the end of your stay, on departure day, you’ll follow the same route in reverse: a local boat will pick you up from IKIGAI at dawn, taking you to the mainland, where a taxi shuttle will drive you directly to the airport, in time for your return flight.

The entire journey will be organized by us in collaboration with trusted local contacts, guaranteeing you smooth and secure logistics from the beginning to the end of your experience. For any special needs, such as early flights, delays, or extended stays, please let us know in advance so we can find the most suitable solution together.

Program

IKIGAI RETREAT – MASTER ITINERARY
Introduction to the Ikigai Retreat
Welcome to the Ikigai Retreat, a 10-day transformational sailing journey through the San Blas Islands of Panama. This is not a holiday. It’s a sacred pause. A reset. A purposeful return to your essence guided by the four pillars of Ikigai:
What you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.
This retreat combines somatic movement, freediving, meditation, island exploration, and deep group work, all while journeying through paradise aboard the Ikigai sailing boat.
You are not here to perform. You are here to remember. You are here to live. A chance to reconnect with the natural rhythm of life, the people around you, and yourself.

Daily Rhythm – Ikigai Style
Morning Routine (1.5 hours)
Each day begins with conscious connection:

  • Breathwork (Ancient Pranayama to regulate the nervous system)
  • Movement (yoga, Tabata, Tai Chi, boxing, or intuitive flow)
  • Meditation (silent, guided, ocean-based)
  • Ikigai Journal Prompt of the Day
Purpose: to ground in your body, return to your breath, and orient toward self-discovery.

Evening Routine (1–1.5 hours)
Every evening closes with integration:

  • Sunset yoga or gentle movement
  • Silent or shared reflection circles
  • Journaling prompts & storytelling
  • Group expression (music, spoken word, art)
Purpose: to digest the day, reconnect with community, and listen to your deeper wisdom.

Intentional Free Time
Unstructured time is sacred. Swim, read, nap in a hammock, or write in your journal. You don’t need to fill time, you can just be.

Life on Board & Food
Living on Ikigai is living in rhythm with nature and community. Meals are co-created and inspired by the ocean and land: lobster, fresh catch, tropical fruit, and vibrant veggies.
Cooking is a communal dance of curiosity and joy. You’re welcome to join in or simply savor the nourishment.
We live close with 5 guests and 3 crew members Luca, Puck & Javier, but not crowded. We rise with the sun. We eat by the sea. We sleep under stars.
Practice: Notice what nourishes you, beyond the plate.

Important Note
While the itinerary is well-structured, we are guests of the sea. Weather, wind, and tides may ask us to shift course. All changes will be made in favor of safety, group flow, and deepening the experience.
Ikigai lives in presence, not perfection. Flexibility is part of the path.
