What to Bring for Your Sailing Adventure
Life at sea is extremely minimalist, so even veteran backpackers often find they don’t use most of what they bring. Before your embarkation, you’ll receive a recommended packing list based on the planned route, but in general, these guidelines always apply:
Onboard space is limited, so it’s essential to be practical and carefully choose what to bring. One thing to avoid? Hard suitcases! Not only are they difficult to stow, but they also take up more space than you might think.
The best solution is soft, foldable duffel bags, which you can easily store when not in use.
Tips for the Perfect Sailing Luggage:
✅ Roll Your Clothes: This simple trick will save you a lot of space. By rolling clothes instead of folding them, you’ll fit more in your bag and reduce wrinkles.
✅ Bring Only the Essentials: Since you’ll spend most of your time in swimsuits or light clothing, don’t overload your bag. Essential items: swimsuits, light clothing, and a windbreaker for cooler moments.
✅ Deck Shoes: Make sure to bring shoes with non-marking soles. This prevents leaving marks or scratches on the deck. Boat shoes or slip-resistant shoes are perfect for any challenging navigation.
✅ Essential Accessories: Flip-flops, sunglasses, sunscreen, lycra t-shirts, and a hat are necessary to protect yourself from the sun.
✅ Weather Gear: Depending on your destination, you may want to bring a lightweight waterproof jacket or layering clothes, like a windbreaker for windy days.
✅ Photography and Videography Gear: We provide a reasonable number of devices onboard, but feel free to bring your own equipment to capture unforgettable memories of your journey.
✅ Your Personal Space: Bring along a good book, your e-reader, board games, a musical instrument, or anything else you’d like to enjoy during your moments of relaxation onboard.
What NOT to Bring:
There’s no need to bring towels, sheets, or dishes – these are already provided onboard. This way, you’ll have more space for your personal essentials!
